say goodbye to Halloween. boo

Its the last day of the Halloween exhibition tomorrow. sadly waving goodbye to everything Halloweeny for one more year, now only to be visually and aurally attacked by Christmas. wonder how many times the Mariah Carey song will be playing per day. So to the populace of Ireland, get your winter socks and cosy coats on and come on down. If even for a respite away from everything Christmassy.

Damien Slattery lathers paint onto the canvas into a multi-coloured medley of lines and squiggles. You get a sense of his colourful personality from his  two expressive self portraits which are reminiscent of Francis Bacon and Edvard Munch , both of these portraits are on display in the exhibition .

William Best is the best!

If you love surrealism , listening to pink floyd and paintings that every time you look at it theirs something new, then William Best's paintings are for you. They have a life of their own. I love this long white figure hovering by the window, the slight shadow on the floorboards glide your eye's down the body of the painting .

The next image of Williams painting's reminds me of a Pink floyd album cover. the colours in the electric brain are illuminous, you can almost hear the snap and crackle of electricity off of it.

WHAT AN EXCELLENT DAY FOR AN EXORCISM.

these paintings really do make me want to watch the exorcist again, after looking at these you might have to leave the light on while you sleep. i do think these paintings were to blame for the blackout on the opening day. jonathan's possessed.

Jonathan lynch has made a great youtube video of the gallery on the opening night. everyone should come down and check out his amazing paintings of the exorcist movies, you can see them in this video shot too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=czb5Ss8bfpo

here are a few images of Johns paintings also.

Here are a few images of my work that was on display for the exhibition. Have had this oil painting for a while but thought it suited the theme and i love the frame. This painting was also in a zombie art exhibition in dublin, where some of Roisin's paintings were also shown, in the former Clyne gallery Dublin. Slowly making our way across every horror themed exhibition near you.

This is oil on canvas, love bright colours, their's also a lot of animals and feathers in my work, no real reason just like animals and feathers.

This is a quiet large print that accompanies the red painting.

This oil painting is of the round tower in Rattoo, near Ballyduff in Co.Kerry which has the only example of a sheela -na -gig found on an irish round tower. The scene depicted in this painting shows a Banshee hovering over the round tower while 2 bolts of lightening hit it. apparently it was hit by lightening 7 times before!

and here are images of my prints that were displayed. their are two Photo riston prints , a lino print and a woodblock.

check out my website if you'd like to see more.

Here are photos of the amazing artwork that is on display until the 10th of November.
Roisin mcAuley's ghoulish renderings of horrifying political leaders, love the way the flesh on Gadafi's face looks like its bubbling and just sliding off the bone.

The couple portrait of Asma and Bashir is striking. A doctor that was at the opening night was quiet happy with the realistic effects of toxic gas on their faces.
Roisin also has T-shirts and glow in the dark stickers on sale. should check out her etsy shop https://www.etsy.com/listing/164296177/evil-dead-t-shirt-slim-fit?ref=favs_view_17

Púca Art gallery had its open day on Saturday the 26th October, was an amazing night and was delighted and relieved that so many people turned up. had terrifying dreams the night before of an empty gallery and me sitting , drinking all the wine, but was not to be. was a full house, musicians were amazing and even got a display of thunder and lightening adding some spooky atmosphere to the Halloween themed exhibition, it also made the power cut and was just about leaving time too, perfect timing.
